Watching a film in a Tamil theatre used to follow unspoken rules. Clapping, whistling, silence during songs — each had meaning. Today, multiplex culture changes these norms. Phone screens glow; applause feels restrained.

Neither era is superior. Single screens fostered community; multiplexes offer comfort and safety. What we lose and gain matters. By recording etiquette shifts, we record social change itself.
